The TurboTrader Mach 2 Desktop Interface is a web-based application providing access to all our market data services. It is the complete, advanced version of our Classic Interface, providing window docking, quick-access toolbars and more efficient Drag-and-Drop functionality.
The Desktop Interface is specifically suited to desktop computers or devices with a mouse, and will present problems when attempting to use it on a touch-screen device, or more limited computer systems. We recommend the Classic Interface in this situation.
Accessing the Desktop Interface
Your TurboTrader Desktops are available from the Live Tab once you are logged in. Clicking on the name will open that Desktop, replacing the Live Tab and access to our main site. Clicking on the 'New Window' link beside it, however, opens in a new window, which allows you to still access our main site to maintain your Account, Portfolios or any other needs.
Each Desktop automatically saves its layout whenever you change it, which allows it to restore you to the same state you were in, no matter what happens.
By default you are presented with two desktops - Mach 1 Basic and Mach 2 Power. These can be freely customised to your own needs.
Managing Desktop Layouts
You can have up to one hundred individual desktop layouts saved. We don't think you'll ever need that many, but it's there to use.
To create a new Desktop layout, click the Create Desktop button from the Live Tab. From there, you can enter a unique name for your new layout, as well as copy an existing layout to start off with, if you so desire.
Each Desktop in the list will have an Edit and Delete button beside it, allowing you to rename a Desktop, replace its layout with that of another Desktop, or delete it from the list.
See some Example Desktops.
There are two main areas to your Desktop Interface - the Desktop Toolbar along the top, and the layout area which dominates the remaining space.
The Desktop Toolbar is where you access the various features of TurboTrader - Live Searches, WatchLists, Charts, News Filters, Chatrooms and more. Visit the main Desktop Toolbar page for more information.
The layout area is where all your various window modules will live, whether docked or floating. It will automatically resize based on the dimensions of your browser window - the larger you make it, the more space you'll gain.

Working with Floating Windows
Working with floating windows can be a little fiddly, so TurboTrader supports a few handy shortcuts to make things easier.
Double Click the title bar to make it collapse, allowing you to quickly view what lies behind it.
Double Click the resizer in the bottom right to make it expand, filling the entire window.
Tips and Tricks
Hold Shift and Double Click the title of any window (docked or floating), and the window will pop out into a new browser window. This also works when holding Shift and clicking Dock or Float.
Utilising Multiple Monitors
Each Desktop can contain only one layout, which means opening the same Desktop multiple times can cause unpredictable behaviour - you never know which one you'll end up with the next time you open that Desktop. If you wish to use TurboTrader with multiple monitors, this can become quite a problem.
To save yourself a lot of trouble, we recommend creating a new Desktop for each monitor you have, and naming them in a logical manner: Left Monitor, Right Monitor, etc. Once this is done, use the 'New Window' link for each and move the newly created window to the appropriate location. With a modern browser, you can Drag-and-Drop between them just as easily as if you're using a single window.
Another approach is to have one large desktop that spans a couple of adjoining monitors.
