In order to better assist you in getting started with TurboTrader, we have put together this brief guide to the basics of our trading tools platform.

Please take a moment to ensure you are running one of our Supported Browsers, which will ensure the best experience.

Sign-up and Activation

Before you can begin with TurboTrader, you will need to create an Account with us. This is a simple, quick process and should only take a few minutes at most. Before starting, review the tips for making the most of your Free Trial. Use the button on the front page of our website to begin, or go directly to register.

Once your account is created, an Account Activation email will be sent to your provided Email address. You will need to follow the confirmation link inside it before you can begin to access any of our Subscriber Services.

Browsing the Site

There are several main areas that are immediately useful:

The Account Tab will provide access to the common account maintenance actions - changing your account details, viewing your recent login and payment activity, and renewing or altering your subscription.

The Live Tab provides access to all the live data services - Live Searches, WatchLists, News Filters and more.

Accessing Live Data

A Desktop in the default 'power' layout, with linked Single-Asset windows down the side, news, Portfolio and a WatchList

As part of your Trial, you will receive some default settings to get you started. This includes a couple of default Desktop layouts, three standard Live Searches, and an empty WatchList. In addition to this, there are several global searches and news filters available to everyone - Market Movers and Index searches, and a Directors Interest filter.

Use Desktops (multiple are possible) for comprehensive views, or individual windows via the Classic interface, or a combination.

The Live Tab will default to showing your available Desktops. If you prefer the Classic Interface, you can change this behaviour from the Live Settings page.

The Desktop Interface

Live Search After opening one of the default desktops, start from the Desktop Toolbar at the top. Hover the mouse over the Live Search icon (shown left) and use Drag-and-Drop to place one of the default searches onto one of the Unsaved Live Search windows which are displayed by default.

Results will immediately appear, and begin updating according to the current market action. Do this during market hours, and you will see things appear and disappear dynamically throughout the day.

See Example Desktops for hints to configure your own Desktops, and to gain concepts of some of the many ways that the services can be used.

Viewing the Market

Sort the Live Table with a single-click on an appropriate column header (something with a number or text value).

Click on the name of one of the Assets displayed, which will bring up an Asset Details window. Drag-and-Drop the icons on the toolbar to switch it to showing the Course of Trades, the Market Depth, a News Filter, or one of the Charts.

If you selected the Power Desktop, you can Drag-and-Drop a row from the search results onto one of the windows along the right-hand side, which will cause all three of the grouped windows to change.

Interpretation of the tables

There are two types of tables: "Live WatchLists" (being sets of assets to continually monitor) and "Live Search" (which show assets that are currently meeting certain search criteria). Both use the same type of table.

Observe the set of columns comparing against Pv (Previous) and Av (Average Daily Volume). The number represents percentage, e.g. "4" means 40% and green U means 100% (therefore now exceeding).

The tables can be sorted by certain columns, e.g. by Volume. Select the table heading. Select again to sort in the opposite direction.

Keep the Icon Legend open in a separate window to become familiar with all symbols.

As a new asset meets the search criteria (for example exceeding average daily volume and being more than zero ticks up) then it is automatically added to the table. If it stops meeting them, then it will be removed. See more explanation about how to understand the searches.

Closing the Desktop

Close Icon When finished, click the Close button (shown left) and confirm the closure. Your Desktop's current state will be saved, so you can return to it with the exact same layout and windows the next time you open it.

Learning More

Feel free to utilise everything during your trial. The full power of the system is available. Create new desktops, build custom searches, or whatever you like.

Get help for each facility via the Help icon in its window toolbar. Use the Support channels where the group can assist.

Browse around the Wiki to learn more. It is expanding all the time, thanks to the members of the Co-operative.
